On your behalf (September 2018)

NPC has been working on your behalf making submissions, attending meetings, ensuring the voices of parents of primary school children are being heard

NPC made representation at the following:

  • A roundtable discussion with the UK Secretary of State and key Irish education figures in early literacy development and the role of parents
  • The National Council for Special Education (NCSE)
  • A symposium at the Burren College of Art in "Creative Education" - Towards a more creative future
  • Nordisk Kommitté Conference in Gardermoen, Norway: Entitled “Diversity and adaptation” Collaboration between school and parents
  • A meeting in Brussels to support Member States in the Implementation of the Child sexual abuse Directive 2011/93/EU with regard to background checks and the use of the European Criminal Record Information System (ECRIS)
  • The Teaching Council

Also on your behalf NPC attended:

  • A Teaching Council briefing on the commencement of Re-vetting and the growth phase of Droichead
  • A meeting with the Genesis Programme, a consortium of over fifty Partner Organisations that deliver the Incredible Years suite of programmes and other evidence-informed interventions to children, families and communities 
  • The Launch of the Barnardos Annual Report 2017
  • Early Childhood Ireland's - Child Centeredness Exploring Perspectives at the DCYA
